Master Bedroom Refresh Part 2

A few weeks ago while in the Twin Cities, Farm Boy and I went shopping, and picked up a few things to refresh the master bedroom. You can read about it here.

I was also inspired to make some simple wreaths using wooden embroidery hoops and greenery.

I started out with five hoops and soon realized that I would need a lot more to go around the picture I wanted to hang them with. So off to the store I went to purchase a few more. The hoops ranged in price from 1.29 to 1.99 each.
After I finished attaching the greenery, I laid the hoops on the floor and tied them together in the shape that they would be going on the wall. This made it much easier to hang and also allowed for only a few nails to be put in the wall.

It turned out so cute.
Now that they are on the wall it is quite stunning.

Here is a sneak peek of what we have done to the bedroom so far.

We are planning to switch out the night stands for matching dressers on either side of the bed.
I’m also looking for new lamps and a couple of pillow shams in another color.

Farm Boy and I also have thrown around the idea of installing shiplap on the wall behind the bed or doing a board and batten treatment. If we do that we will most likely paint the room at that time. One thing always leads to another it seems. We have also been looking for a headboard and not really found what we want, so we have talked of making and designing our own. Well… to be truthful… my hubby will most likely make it. 😉

Stay tuned for Part 3 sometime in the future. I have a feeling the color “green” will make a change.

In other news I spent yesterday down to the cottage trying to make sense of all of the furnishings that have ended up there.
The farm table got a coat of fresh paint on it’s legs and we brought in a vintage sideboard that also got a coat of paint. The chairs, that do not match a single thing in the cottage, have yet to be addressed. They are finished in a shiny black paint with natural seats. A friend gave them to me thinking I could repurpose them. She’s right. I can… but they are going to be so much work. So I have kept my eye out for different chairs that would better suit the table.

Making our spaces comfortable and our own, takes time and patience and it can get a little overwhelming. Plus there is always a budget to consider. I am constantly reminding myself to slow down.
I’m sure many of you know what I’m talking about.

Thanks for stopping by friends,

Shelly
